I’m showing some work from the Fella Project and Golden Kids in the exhibition “Pleasure Principle” curated by Sadie Woods at the Silver Rooms Wicker Park Pop Up store. This is a super special opportunity for me because the Silver Room is a staple in the city and was in the Wicker Park neighborhood for ever before it relocated to the Hyde Park Neighborhood so to have it back in Wicker Park for for a pop up where it started?! I think its super rad! The show is up until June 1!
Here are details about the show:
Pleasure Principle is a multimedia exhibition exploring the complexities of Black life, subcultural and counter-cultural communities. These select works conceptually engage with love and companionship, collective memory-work as an act of resistance, and query dominant societal narratives. Lustral explorations of civic life, afrofuturism and technology yield works of realism, fantasy and desire through photography, painting, illustration, sculpture, and installation.
Artists included in this group show are Nicole Briggs, Dredske, Jory Drew, Caswell James, Allen Moore, and Anthony Williams.
