nosey af1.jpg

I spent a weekend photographing several groups of Black Men for my new exhibition Love You Bro currently on display at the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Yall I feel like it was a peek behind the curtain, I learned so much just watching these guys interact with one another, and they shared info with me, that I thought would be fun to share on this weeks show.

If you are in Springfield this week, please consider attending my conversation with Tempsett Hazel titled Spielberg, Diddy, Oprah, and Me" starting at 5:30 pm

022 Skateboarding and Punk Rock in the Mexican Community with Alex Rojas

Episode 22 Nosey AF

I could talk to my friend writer/director Alex Rojas all day yall, and the day we recorded this interview I did pretty much talk to him all day. Alex and I covered a lot of ground, but I thought it would be most interesting to focus on punk culture, skateboarding, and gangs in the Mexican community.

Alex, took us to school this episode and I hope you enjoy it.

020 Africans in the Jamaican Club, Going Dutch, and Tyra Banks w/Michelle G

Episode 20 Nosey AF

Its all throwback about it today on Episode 20 of nosey AF! I found some old interviews from 2013 from my So This One Guy project and thought it would be fun to share some of them. Todays episode is with Michelle and her relationship with her then boyfriend. Michelle isn’t with this dude anymore so it doesn’t matter, but its still a fun conversation I want to share with ya!

Enjoy

I have a exhibition this week at boundary that opens Saturday Sept 29.

Episode 19 Nosey AF

Yall my guest KMoon is a regular girl from the west side of Chicago that Keeps Making Opportunities Outta Nothing.

I met KMoon at a mutual friends birthday party and found her super interesting. Mostly because her business names would sound like she had a full crew, but it was really just her, like who does that?! LOL

Folks know KMoon because she throws parties, but she also does charity work, produces concerts, flips houses. I mean she is basically Oprah.

It's my goal this episode of noseyAF you get inspired by KMoon hustle and you too will aspire to be her friend, another cool girl doing cool things I think you should know about.

009 The Who, What, Where and dating life of a Hebrew Israelite with Andre Yisrael

Andre Yisrael

Andre is a Hebrew Israelite. I'm not sure if you know this, but Hebrew Israelites get sort of a bad rap for not being welcoming and some radical when one challenges their faith. Thankfully for us, Andre a member of this faith, sat with me to discuss the ins and outs of what being a Hebrew Israelite means and gives me an idea if finding an Israelite boyfriend/girlfriend is a good idea, or not. I'm thankful for people like Andre saying yes and allowing me to ask dumb questions.

I'm excited about today's show as its getting to the bottom of what this podcast is about having conversations and asking questions of those who are nothing like me. Its fun, I'm thankful, and I love you.

008 Rap Beefs, Barbecue Sauce, and Getting Back to Innocence

Drunken Monkeee

Performance Artist Drunken Monkeee is without a doubt one of the energetic performers you will ever see! I'm not just saying that either, his performances are super fun. Even though Monkeee is based in Minnesota right now, he was in town to perform and visit family, and I was happy that he said yes when I went on a limb and asked him to come by for the podcast.

If you love hip-hop, underground hip-hop, social justice and pop culture, this is a fun chit chat with Drunken Monkeee.

Meandering Design

Just like Kandy!!!
